SCHOOL pupils in St Ann's were read a story by ice hockey players from Nottingham Panthers as part of World Book Day on Thursday.
The celebrations at Blue Bell Hill School started with more than 100 families arriving for a special World Book day breakfast, served by some of their favourite story characters.
Every family received a new book bag with a Gruffalo story book.
Staff and children were dressed as their favourite story book characters throughout the day.
Children also received a free World Book Day book and all adults received a free Quick Reads book too.
Nic Williams, strategic support manager at the school, said: "At Blue Bell Hill we love to read. World Book Day gave us a great opportunity to celebrate this with lots of fun activities to encourage the whole school community to enjoy reading. It's great to see so many families and children taking part."
