PREPARATIONS are under way for the Cowslip Sunday.
The festival revives the Cowslip Sunday folk tradition, which saw visitors descend upon the village to pick cowslips to make cowslip wine.
As part of the events being held during the day there will be an open-air performance of Lambley Jack And The Giant of Ploughman Wood.
Actors are now needed to take part in the performance.
"This year's play will be a lot of fun", said David Longford, who has written the play.
"In fact you could describe it as a panto for springtime.
"It's got the return of some favourite characters from last year, including the Lambley fairies and Flamstead the cow, plus lots of new ones including a terrible giant who wants to rid Lambley of its cowslip celebrations.
"I've thrown in loads of audience participation as well, and so it'll be great family entertainment for all."
Organisers at Lambley Arts Festival have planned the events, which will take place on Sunday, May 1.
There will also be a procession through the village and art and crafts fair.
There will be a meeting for anyone interested in taking part at 6.30pm next Monday at Lambley Village Hall.
For more information about the event, call David Longford on 07914 942019.
