Hull could be at heart of European renewables industry

Hundreds of guests packed into The Octagon Centre this morning to hear how Hull could become the capital of the UK renewable industry.

Matt Jukes, port director for Hull and Goole, and Alan Johnson MP spoke about the importance of Siemens' decision to build a wind turbine factory in Hull at a breakfast meeting organised by the Children's University.

Mr Johnson, MP for Hull West and Hessle, told guests Hull could not only be the leader of the UK's renewable industry but also at the heart of Europe's.
