While you likely heard about Todd Frazier of the Cincinnati Reds saving a man's life and saw this amazing catch by an Ohio pitcher, there are a few quirky things that happened in baseball this week you may have missed.
I present to you four interesting events from this week in baseball you might just find entertaining.
1. One fan got lucky on Wednesday when he caught Carlos Quentin's third inning home run, and then Darwin Barney's walk-off home run.
You can view the video here. Go to the 20-second mark to see the first home run and to 1:49 to see the second catch.
2. On Tuesday, a group of Cubs fans completed a nearly 2,000-mile journey.
They walked from Mesa, Ariz., to Wrigley Field with a goat.
Their reasons? To raise awareness for cancer. Also to reverse the curse of the Billy Goat.
The Cubs beat the Padres 5-3 on the day they finished their walk, so they might be on to something.
3. Royals legend George Brett used Twitter to assemble a search-and-rescue team for his missing dog Charlie.
Many of Brett's 12,000-plus followers helped find his dog after he posted about its disappearance on Twitter.
The original tweet went out on Tuesday and, yesterday, Brett announced that his dog was home and safe.
4. Nyjer Morgan has set a new MLB record.
No, it's not most uncensored expletives shouted on TV or most entertaining brawl to watch. Morgan has set a record for most at-bats to start a season without an RBI, according to an article written by Kyle Lobner for brewcrewball.com, hitting 120 times without bringing a runner home.

When the Georgia offense is the topic of discussion, the offensive line is the one thing fans want to talk about.
It's understandable because if the Bulldogs do want to reach new heights, the offensive line has to be more consistent.
One position that does not have to worry about being more consistent is the wide receivers' because they came up with big play after big play last year.
But with all the talk about the offensive line, running backs and Aaron Murray, does the average fan know about the receivers on the team?
Here's a closer look at what you need to know about the WR corps.

The Dwight Howard sweepstakes are heating up, and now there is more pressure on the Brooklyn Nets to trade for the Orlando Magic big man.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, all-star guard Deron Williams will only re-sign with the Nets if the team acquires Howard and become an instant championship contender.
"It's Dwight Howard or bust," said a league source who has spoken to Williams.
Wojnarowski also writes that the Nets may be willing to include the top pick in the draft, and the rights to Anthony Davis, in a potential deal if Brooklyn wins tonight's NBA draft lottery.

Italian striker Mario Balotelli has been at the center of numerous incidents of racism in his career with the Italian national team, but he bluntly said today that he will "kill" any racists planning to attack him at Euro 2012.
The BBC show "Panorama" ran an episode this week exposing fan racism in Poland and Ukraine, the two countries that will be hosting Euro 2012, which starts June 8th.
When asked about the possibility of racist attacks at Euro 2012, Balotelli didn't hold back.
Balotelli had this to say to France Football Magazine, as reported by Reuters:
"I will not accept racism at all.... If someone throws a banana at me in the street, I will go to jail because I will kill them. It was lucky the police arrived quickly because I swear, I would have beaten them. I would really have destroyed them."
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk quickly tried to quiet the growing concern, saying that "nobody who comes to Poland will be in any danger because of his race."

With just a 13.7% chance of winning the NBA Draft Lottery, the New Orleans Hornets overcame the odds and won the first pick in the NBA Draft and the right to select Kentucky's Anthony Davis.
With the Hornets winning the first pick, the Charlotte Bobcats will pick second, and became the latest team to finish with the worst record and fail to receive the top pick in the draft. The 2004 Orlando Magic were the last team to finish with the worst record and win the draft lottery. And in 28 seasons, the team with the worst record has only won four times.
The Hornets had the fourth longest odds to win the lottery.
Here are the top three picks being revealed on ESPN (via TheBigLead.com)...

A homeless dog who befriended a group of traveling college graduates on their epic ride from China to Tibet is now an online sensation.
The dog's name is Xiao Sa, and she has remarkable story.
According to ITN News, she started following the cyclists after they threw her some food when she was on the side of the highway early in their journey.
She trotted after them, and didn't go away. During the 24-day journey, she ran 50-60 kilometers a day. She also ran over 10 mountains and endured harsh weather.
Eventually the cyclists decided to care for the dog. They put her in a crate on the back of the bike when they were flying down steep hills.
One of the cyclists theorized that the dog has been living and running on the road from China to Lhasa, Tibet for awhile. He told China Daily: "She followed us for three days, running behind our team but sometimes leading us. She's very smart and knows the route, because she never got lost even when we passed through mountains."
The cyclists also told China Daily that they hope to keep her now that the journey is over.

16, 36 and 10.
Those are the number of offensive rebounds, free throw attempts (they made 29) and turnovers, respectively, the Oklahoma City Thunder had Tuesday night.
Throw in a 47 percent three-point barrage and a combined 88 points from your big three (Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, James Harden), and you would expect ANY team with that kind of night to go home with a win.
But not OKC.
Despite such an amazing performance the San Antonio Spurs ran off their 20th consecutive victory 120-111.
The five stats above are quite telling. The Spurs won despite an incredible offensive night from the Thunder.
A sixth stat from Tuesday's Game 2 is even more telling, though: 35.5.
That represents the number of minutes at the end of the game in which OKC didn't have a shot attempt that could have tied the game or given them the lead.
A shocking statistic.
OKC shot the lights out from beyond the arc, let their big three take over, eliminated their biggest weakness (turnovers), went to the line much more often than San Antonio lets its opponents do, cleaned up the offensive glass, and STILL couldn't make the score any closer than the six-point lead the Spurs had at one point during the fourth quarter.
Of course, much of the credit should go to Tony Parker (34 points on 16-for-21 shooting and 8 assists), Kawhi Leonard and Manu Ginobili for going toe-to-toe with OKC's scoring barrage.
A lockout-shortened season was supposed to help young teams like the Thunder because their fresh legs could grind their way through a tough, compressed schedule.
It now looks like the team they are modeled on, the Spurs, don't plan on having anything get in the way of an NBA title.

With the 2012 Euro Cup set to begin next month in Poland and Ukraine, there is plenty of anticipation mounting for soccer enthusiasts across the world. Top squads like Spain, Germany, Netherlands, Portugal and England are obviously considered to be the favorites, but nearly every team will be a tough out and has a chance to do some damage.
There's always at least a couple surprising teams that make a run in the Euro Cup, and this year should be no different. It isn't always about the teams with the biggest stars; rather, the teams with the best strategy and will to succeed are the ones that end up being the toughest to beat.
Here are three squads that nobody is talking about much leading up to the Euro Cup, but they have a solid chance to make some noise and perhaps advance out of the group stage and beyond.
Croatia
They may not have a ton of star power, but Croatia is a team that always seems to perform well in international tournaments and has enough depth to give the big boys a run for their money. Although many may not realize it, the Croatians are the eighth-ranked team in the world right now, and it is for good reason. They looked very good in the qualifying phase and have enough firepower to worry the top teams, as Niko Kranjcar, Eduardo and Mario Mandzukic form an exciting trio.
Perhaps more than anything, though, the Croatians play very strong team defense—something that will frustrate the more highly-touted teams. Croatia is stuck in a very tough group against Spain, Italy and Ireland. While beating out Spain is a tall task, there is no reason why they can't wrest the No. 2 spot in the group away from Italy. If Croatia is able to do that, then anything can happen in the quarterfinals.
Denmark
Every international tournament has what is deemed a "group of death," as it generally has three or four very strong teams. In Euro 2012, that group is Group B. It contains three of the most successful European nations ever in the sport of soccer: Germany, Netherlands and Portugal. It is the team that nobody is talking about that could be the most dangerous, however, as Denmark will enter the tournament with low expectations and nothing to lose.
Denmark may be the worst-ranked team in the group, but they are 10th in the world nonetheless, so there is no reason why they can't compete. They were very strong in qualifying and even managed to beat Portugal 2-1. There is no reason why they can't turn the trick again.
Nicklas Bendtner and Dennis Rommedahl are underrated offensive threats, and Thomas Sorensen is a stalwart in goal. Don't be too surprised if the Danes are able to clip two European powers and move on.
Sweden
Of all the teams on this list, Sweden may have the most advantageous draw. Making it out of Group D won't be a walk in the park by any stretch of the imagination—the Swedes will have to contend with England, France and host Ukraine—but finishing in the top two is quite possible. The English team is talented but prone to letdowns, and the same can be said of France. Ukraine should be competitive, but it simply doesn't measure up to the other three squads talent-wise.
Sweden beat both Ukraine and Netherlands in qualifying and dropped a close 1-0 decision against England. There is no doubt that they have what it takes to compete.
The Swedes will be led by striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who could star for most top nations thanks to his fantastic offensive ability. The true key to Sweden's success, though, will be goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson. If he holds up, then the Swedes will be in business.

Josh Hamilton of the Texas Rangers became just the 16th player in big league history to hit four home runs in one game. He also added a double, going 5-5 and driving in eight runs in the 10-3 win over the Baltimore Orioles.
Hamilton is the first player to hit four home runs in a game since Carlos Delgado did so for the Toronto Blue Jays in 2003. His 18 total bases is an American League record and is one short of the Major League record.
On the next few pages, we will take a look at all four of his home runs.

Former Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens was doing his regular ESPN Radio Dallas spot recently, when the topic of Junior Seau's suicide came up.
Asked for his thoughts on the tragedy, TO said he could definitely relate to Seau's situation (via Sports Radio Interviews, emphasis ours).
"My heart goes out to his family, dude. I went through it dude, I saw his mom’s interview. Dude, that’s gut-wrenching to know a mom has to go through that. Honestly dude, I’ve been in that situation where you do feel like giving up because nobody understands the world that you live in. Nobody knows the things that you go through on a day to day basis.”
If you recall, Owens gave a revealing interview to GQ in January, saying he's always been a social outcast and struggled holding on to relationships.
The ESPN Radio Dallas hosts then asked TO if he could elaborate on those comments about him being in a similar situation:
“I think there’s a lot of people that have been at that point. Me, other players. People look at us as invincible beings when we’re playing such a macho game. A game that we play as kids but we’re playing as grown men. And nobody understands that. Who knows what Junior was going through. Who knows.”

Head coach Mike Woodson told reporters Tuesday that Jeremy Lin won't come to the New York Knicks' rescue in their series against the Miami Heat, according to Howard Beck of the New York Times.
"He's not ready."
Woodson added that it won't happen even if the series somehow goes to a full seven games.
Woodson's comments come a few days after Lin got everyone excited by saying he could be back from knee surgery much sooner than expected.
Although it probably wouldn't make a huge difference, and there's NO WAY the Knicks are extending this series to seven games, New York could really use a point guard right now.
Iman Shumpert and Baron Davis are both out for the year, leaving the ancient Mike Bibby and little-used Toney Douglas as the only options.
Considering all signs point to Woodson signing an extension to stay on as Knicks head coach, it's not surprising that he wouldn't bring Lin back before he's at full strength. Woodson is not going to risk his starting point guard's long term health for the minuscule chance the Knicks have at getting past the Heat.
This first round series is over.
New York's win over Miami in Game 4 was more of an aberration than anything else.

Four weeks into the baseball season, Albert Pujols has one home run, and the St. Louis Cardinals are still one of the best teams in baseball. In fact, they may be the best team in baseball.
If we look at run differential (runs scored minus runs allowed), which is typically a better indicator of how well teams are playing, the Cards are the only team outscoring their opponents by more than 2.0 runs per game. The Texas Rangers are the best in the American League at 1.7 runs per game.
The surprise team on this list is the Baltimore Orioles who at 19-9 are in first place in the AL East...

No matter how well Chris Bosh plays, he's always going to be looked at as the Miami Heat's third wheel.
Bosh was just as big of a recruiting target for Dwyane Wade in Miami as LeBron James was a few summers ago, but the label will always be there: Bosh is the weak link in the Heat's triple-headed monster.
To make matters worse, Bosh is constantly lampooned by the likes of Shaquille O'Neal and the internet at-large for his supposed deficiencies.
But through it all, Bosh has mostly taken it in stride by remaining the incredibly weird and funny guy that made so many Toronto Raptors fans love him when he first entered the league.

Ricky Fowler won this weekend's Wells Fargo Championship in a playoff over Rory McIlroy and D.A. Points. It was his first career PGA Tour win, and he did it dressed as The Great Pumpkin.
Fowler is also the last of "The Golf Boys," to win a PGA event. The golfing boy band quartet, which also includes Bubba Watson, Ben Crane, and Hunter Mahan, have now combined for 14 career PGA Tour wins, including one major (Watson at this year's Masters).
