EAST YORKS: Beer from a brewery at Winestead is being sold at the elegant Sourced Market bar in London's St Pancras Station.

Great Newsome Brewery owner Matthew Hodgson said: "It was a chance conversation that opened up a fantastic opportunity for us to introduce our beer to a much wider audience.

"My aunt popped in to the outlet while waiting for a train and got chatting to the manager – one thing led to another and they took some of our bottled beers to try at the beginning of March.

"The beer has been so successful, they have repeated the order and are also going to take a cask beer at the end of the month, which is something new for Sourced Market."

The brewery is enjoying a successful run. At Christmas, bottled beer sales turnover was up 69 per cent year-on-year. Specialist beers are planned for the Rugby World Cup this autumn and the Olympics next year.
