Ohio State has been dominant in the news for all of the wrong reasons this offseason. In a sport currently surrounded by allegations, controversy and investigations, the Buckeyes are one of the leaders of the pack.
Fortunately for the Buckeyes, after months of waiting, they finally get the opportunity to make some headlines on the field today as they kickoff their 2011 season against Akron.
Never before has the perennial Big Ten powerhouse entered a season with so many questions surrounding it.
How will new head coach Luke Fickell handle stepping into the spotlight as the leader of the Buckeyes?
How will the Buckeyes respond with so many players serving suspensions?
Will past and current allegations serve as a distraction?
Given the opportunity, what young Buckeyes will step up as leaders?
How will the quarterback situation play out?
I could go on, but the questions are endless surrounding this program. At least for one Saturday afternoon, the Buckeyes can attempt to give the nation some answers.
