NFL Predictions Week 3: Which Running Back Will Be Week's Leading Rusher?

Michael Vick has been taking a beating today in Philadelphia, which means the Eagles, especially if they stay in the game, should rely on LeSean McCoy for offense. The stats are already indicating this, as "Shady" is leading the rushers so far today with 102 yards on 17 carries.

The Vikings have been surprisingly dominant at home against Detroit's upstart team, and Adrian Peterson has a 43-yard touchdown run to go a long with his 73 total yards on the ground.

It looks like these two guys could have the top rushing game this weekend.

Ben Tate, as expected, is playing well in a fill-in role for the injured Arian Foster. Tate has 66 yards on 12 carries right now.

Ahmad Bradshaw isn't far behind, but with the running-back-by-committee routine with the Giants, don't expect him to take over.

The one player that could have a field day is Michael Turner of the Atlanta Falcons. Turner had a very good game against Philadelphia last weekend, and now he gets to face the 31st-ranked rush defense in the league in Tampa Bay.

We all know that the Falcons want to spread it out and be that explosive, wide open offense, but don't be surprised if offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey sucks it up and tries to get Turner going early and often.

I would say Ryan Matthews of the San Diego Chargers, going against a depleted and emotionally drained Kansas City team, could lead the weekend. But, with an offense like the one San Diego has, I just don't see Matthews being more of a focal point.

I might also lean towards a good performance from the Steelers running game against the Indianapolis Colts. The game surely will not be a shootout with Kerry Collins still trying to gel into the offense, so expect a ball control game from the Steelers offense.

Perhaps Rashard Mendenhall could break out? I know he has not had a 100-yard game yet, but if he's going to have a big game, it's going to be against a Colts team that is ranked 29th against the run.

Adrian Peterson or Michael Turner appear to be the best bets right now.
