Barcelona: Xavi Hernandez Talks Cesc Fabregas, 3-4-3, La Liga, and Valencia

Cesc Fabregas

Xavi Hernandez of FC Barcelona has admitted  that the presence of Cesc Fabregas has helped him improve his world football skills. Xavi went on to say that Fabregas complements him (and vice versa) on the field with good results.

Xavi also commented about the 3-4-3 system, La Liga and the result of the recent match between Barcelona and Valencia. I have studied the videos of Xavi and Fabregas and there exists a compatibility between the two players.

3-4-3 System

Xavi praised the 3-4-3 system used in matches, since it maintains possession of the ball.

He also commented about the difficulty of the 3-4-3 system in regards to defense compared with a strong midfield. Xavi concluded that the 3-4-3 system helped Barcelona in dominating their matches within the current season.

I agree with Xavi that 3-4-3 produces results, but there should be other systems (such 4-3-4) for variation. The system used would apply to different matches.

La Liga: No Two-Horse Race

Xavi declared that La Liga was not a two-horse race between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. He stated that other teams have done their best in their training and strategies within the current season.

Xavi went on to say that the idea of a two-horse race insults all of the teams. I agree with Xavi that La Liga is not a two horse race, but for a different reason.

The current La Liga BBVA table standings shows Valencia in first place with 10 points, followed by second place Malaga with nine points. Real Betis is currently in third place with nine points, followed by fourth-place FC Barcelona with eight points.

Sevilla FC is in fifth with eight points and Levante is in sixth, also with eight. Real Madrid is in seventh place with seven points.

The results show a shift of power away from FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.

FC Barcelona and Valencia Draw

Xavi admitted that the match was dynamic and allowed for change of tactics on a constant basis. I think that Barcelona is going to have to find a way to improve their playing methods.

Conclusion

It remains to be seen how FC Barcelona will fare in the current season. I do not see (at the present time) Barcelona or Real Madrid winning La Liga, taking into account the current La Liga BBVA standings.
