The storyline in this game is obvious - both teams will debut new quarterbacks, Kevin Kolb and first overall selection Cam Newton.
Kolb has some quality piece around him, such as Larry Fitzgerald and Todd Heap, but his offensive is among the league's worst. Defensive end Charles Johnson is going to wreak havoc on the Cardinals passing attack. Luckily, the PAnther's defensive tackles are pushed around pretty easily, so they might have more success on the ground.
Carolina will test the Cardinals run defense early with a heavy dose of DeAngelo Williams and Johnathan Stewart. If they can get their ground game on track, it will make things a whole lot easier for Cam Newton to begin to attack a Cardinals secondary that is now without its top corner, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.
I expect a pretty close game, bu I will go with the team with the quarterback with the most experience, who is throwing to the best player on the field. I'll pick the Cardinals, 24-21.
