E RIDING: The consortium developing the huge Dogger Bank offshore wind farm off the East Yorkshire coast will begin onshore surveys this week to find out where to lay under-sea connection cables.

Forewind has already confirmed it will transmit its energy back to the shore at the Creyke Beck substation, near Cottingham.

Forewind wants to develop the nine-gigawatt wind farm by 2020, providing ten per cent of the country's electricity needs.

E YORKS: Students in the region are being targeted by fraudsters trying to steal their third student loan instalment.

Scam e-mails are being sent to students asking for personal or bank details, the Student Loans Company has warned.

The number of students revealing their details to the scammers has more than tripled in the last year.

Student Loans Company's security manager Robert Hurt, said: "We are aware that some students from the Humber area are being affected by these scam e-mails and we want to ensure that they do not respond to these."

E RIDING: A holiday complex in Holderness is looking to expand.

Holderness Country Park at Tunstall, near Withernsea, wants to build 49 new static caravan pitches.

David Grayson is seeking planning permission for the development, which he argues will boost tourism and the economy in the area.

East Riding Council's planning committee will consider the application next month.

E RIDING: Visitors to Sewerby Hall will be taken back in time later this month.

The Nottingham Jousting Association is returning to Bridlington for its annual Easter Jousting tournament. The all-day event will take place on Sunday, April 24.
