Murder probe launched over Arnold house fire death

A MURDER probe has been launched after a woman's body was found following a house fire.

The victim's remains were discovered at a house in Georgia Drive in Redhill, Arnold, in the early hours of Monday.

A post-mortem examination showed she had died from head injuries.

Police have not yet revealed the identity of the woman.

Two boys, believed to be her sons, who were at the house at the time of the fire managed to escape unharmed.

A Notts Police spokeswoman said: "A youth who was arrested in connection with the fire remains in custody and detectives will continue to question him today.

"The property suffered extensive fire damage and a cordon remains in place. House-to-house inquiries have also been carried out."
