Man remains in hospital with head injuries after Clifton disturbance

A MAN was still in hospital last night after suffering head injuries in a disturbance in Clifton.

He was found with a serious head wound in Sturgeon Avenue, Clifton, at just after 10pm on Thursday.

An ambulance was called to the scene and paramedics then called the police.

A police spokesman said the man had severe head injuries.

His condition was yesterday described as potentially life-threatening.

Two women were also taken to hospital, one with a head injury and the other with a wrist injury. They were later discharged.

A man, 38, and two women, aged 24 and 23, were arrested and were yesterday being questioned by officers.

Yesterday, a police forensic van was blocking the entrance to the house where the incident happened and forensics officers were also in the house.

Two police cars were parked in the street and officers were speaking with neighbours.

Samantha Booth, 32, of Sturgeon Avenue, called emergency services after she found the injured man in her driveway.

"He was covered in blood," she said. "I managed to get him to lay down on the grass in front of my house.

"He seemed to be drifting in and out of consciousness.

"Having something like that happen outside of your home is terrifying, especially when I have young children."

Another neighbour, 36, said: "I didn't expect anything like this to happen around here."
