Drunken teenager gets Beverley ban despite having moved to Hull

A DRUNK teenager who attacked people in Beverley has been given an antisocial behaviour order.

Conrad Martin Roche, 19, has been banned from using threatening language or behaviour under the order.

However, it only covers the East Riding area as he has only ever committed crimes in Beverley – despite him since moving to Hull.

Pc Annie Reid, the antisocial behaviour order officer for the East Riding, said: "During the earlier offending, he was living in Beverley.

"The order doesn't include Hull as we couldn't provide evidence of any offending behaviour in Hull. The court would say it would be disproportionate to ask for it in that area.

"If he does start offending outside the East Riding, we will seek to extend the order to cover any appropriate areas."

Magistrates were told Roche, of Dee Street, west Hull, has been responsible for three unprovoked assaults in the town since 2006.

The order was granted after he admitted threatening two PCSOs on December 31 last year.

Pc Reid added: "They were all unprovoked assaults at night-time when he had been drinking.

"I would like to think this order will make him think before he commits any further antisocial behaviour.

"The order is a preventative measure that also affords protection to members of the public in the general community.

"But it is just a piece of paper until is breached, so it is now squarely in his hands.

"He has a choice as to whether he continues with that behaviour or not.

"Of course, if any members of the public believe he has breached the order, we would ask them to come forward and we will deal with it."

The order specifically bans Roche from engaging in behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress, being threatening, abusive or insulting, or being in a group of more than two people that is causing harassment, alarm or distress.

Roche was also given a three-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, and a three-month curfew between 7pm and 7am, for threatening the PCSOs.
