Full Moon chef stars in battle for roast award

A NOTTS chef has been named roast pub chef of the year.

Rebecca White, head chef and owner of the Full Moon, in Morton, near Newark, scooped the award for her roast lamb and root vegetables meal.

She was honoured in the Great British Pub Food Awards 2011.

Rebecca took part in a cook-off against other finalists from pubs all over the country.

She had to prepare and cook her roast meal, a starter and a dessert in three hours, as well as a dish from a mystery box of ingredients.

Kasia Sokulska, brand manager of Maggi culinary aides, which sponsors the roast category, said: "Choosing a winner from this shortlist of skilled chefs wasn't easy but Rebecca won the day with an exceptional roast meal with its perfect balance of flavours and textures.

"Rebecca is a truly talented chef and thoroughly deserves this national award."
