Fantasy Football Rankings 2011: 5 WRs Who Should Be Drafted in First Round

You can expect most of the players selected atop your fantasy draft to bust, but you can bank on these five wide receivers to carry first-round value the entire season.

Based purely on production, these five wide receivers will be elite options on a week-to-week basis. Unless you already drafted them in the first round, consider them steals moving forward.

5. Anquan Boldin, Baltimore Ravens

Joe Flacco will emerge as one of the elite QBs this season and Boldin will be the biggest beneficiary. The Ravens acquired Lee Evans and his home run abilities will stretch the field and allow Boldin to reap the benefits. Boldin will be Flacco?s primary possession receiver and red zone option.

4. Miles Austin, Dallas Cowboys

Everyone is raving about Dez Bryant, which benefits Miles Austin. No longer will Austin receive double-teams as defenses worry about the more explosive Bryant. Austin will still serve as Tony Romo?s top option on intermediate and deep routes. Red zone looks will be up for grabs all year and should be split evenly between Bryant, Austin and Jason Witten, but Austin will lead the team in receptions and yards as the most consistent Cowboy skill player.

3. Mike Wallace, Pittsburgh Steelers

Mike Wallace set a lofty goal of 2,000 receiving yards (100 receptions averaging 20 yards a pop). He won?t reach it, but he?ll top 1,500 yards as he emerges as one of the best overall receivers in the NFL. Ben Roethlisberger is expected to air it out more and 60 Minutes will be the best deep threat available. He is fighting for a contract and enters his third season?double whammy right there, folks.

2. Vincent Jackson, San Diego Chargers

Vincent Jackson is fresh after missing most of 2010. He is fighting for a hefty and long-term contract next offseason, so expect him to dominate this year. Philip Rivers may be the NFL MVP this season and will look to V-Jax early and often down the field. Jackson won?t rack up receptions, but he?ll be among the league leaders in yards and touchdowns weekly.

1. Hakeem Nicks, New York Giants

Nicks enters the coveted third year for receivers. He was a monster last year, but he wasn?t as consistent as many envisioned. He?ll put that to rest this year as he fixes his case of the dropsies. He is a fantastic route-runner and will be among the league leaders in targets. His ability to haul in nearly impossible balls like Plaxico Burress did makes him an attractive option for Eli. Expect him to be among the league leaders in receptions, yards and touchdowns. He is rightfully the No. 5 WR on most big boards, but he could finish as the No. 1 fantasy wideout this year.
