College Football Rankings: Is Texas a Top-15 Team After Their Win Against UCLA

Coming into this week the Texas Longhorns were a team that didn?t deserve their Top-25 ranking. They looked bad against Rice and almost dropped their next game against BYU at home.

This was their first road game of the young 2011 season and it was against a UCLA team that upset the Longhorns in Austin last year. This was a game that had UT?s Case McCoy starting his first game where his big brother Colt ended his College Football career.

If Texas lost on Saturday at the Rose Bowl it wouldn?t have been that surprising. Yes, it would have been an upset, but, the Longhorns would have had some excuses.

But Texas came out with an offense that fans haven?t seen since the ?09 season with the elder McCoy. They ran up 42 points on UCLA running away with the game 42-20.

Today, UT will improve in their rankings. It will be interesting to see where the voters put Texas at in the new polls. They could rise all the way up to the Top-15 teams in college football.
