There are teams in the top 25 who are going to be exposed as the impostors that they are. They have no business being ranked, but are still able to cling to their AP Poll lives because of how strong the preseason hype was or one good performance in the first two weeks.
These teams can't fool the voters all season long. Here hare three teams who can kiss the top 25 goodbye after Week 3.
Mississippi St.
If Mississippi St. thought Auburn was tough, wait until they play LSU. Mississippi St. let it be known last week that they were grossly overrated. They are going to follow up their Week 2 loss with a huge loss against an SEC juggernaut.
LSU isn't just a ranked team, they might be the best team in the country. The Tigers have a shutdown defense that Mississippi St. won't even begin to crack. The Bulldogs are barely in the top 25 right now. A loss is going to shove them out for the rest of the season.
West Virginia
West Virginia actually found themselves down to Norfolk State last week. They bounced back and blew them away, but some serious red flags went up in the process. They take on Maryland this week in a matchup that is going to spell defeat for West Virginia.
Maryland might not be ranked, but after their performance against Miami, it's clear that they should be. West Virginia finally faces an actual test and there is no way they survive this battle. A huge loss could be in order and dropping out of the top 25 entirely isn't out of the question.
Ohio State
Ohio State is one of the biggest enigmas in the rankings. Are they a solid team? Are they just beating up on lackluster opponents? The latter seems more likely. After losing to Maryland, Miami is going to come out swinging this week against the Buckeyes.
Miami may have a loss, but they are a tough team. It's a huge test for Ohio State and coming away with a loss will make voters think twice about them. Even one loss would start the overrated murmurs and a that loss appears to be in Ohio State's immediate future.
