HULL: Four workers from Christian Aid are visiting the city on Friday as part of a charity bike ride.
The Reverend David Hardman, Chris Cookson, Becky Hurst and back-up driver Linda Tionga have been pedalling the 240-mile Trans Pennine Cycle Trail for Christian Aid Week and are taking a welcome break in Hull.
Their visit will include meeting the Lord Mayor of Hull, Councillor David Gemmell, at the Guildhall.
As they leave the city, they will be joined by a special contingent of youngsters from the Longhill Link Up Trust. The youngsters will join them on their last lap to Hornsea.
HULL: Blind and partially sighted young people from the city can take part in a green project during the summer holidays.
Eco Challenge Xtra is a three-week programme for 12 visually impaired teenagers, aged 16 to 18.
The youngsters will undertake two residential stays with challenging activities such as abseiling, climbing, and canoeing.

WITHERNSEA: A girl and a woman were given oxygen by firefighters after a washing machine fire at a home in Bannister Street, off Queen Street, in Withernsea.
The blaze started at 7.30pm on Monday and was put out by the property's occupants using a bucket of water and a wet towel.
GOOLE: Bird watchers wanting to improve their skills can visit RSPB Blacktoft Sands, near Goole, on Saturday.
The event will run from 9.30am to 12.30pm, led by an expert offering tips on how to identify birds. A second session will be held on Wednesday, May 25, also from 9.30am to 12.30pm.

HULL: The Hull Branch of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway will meet at the Royal Hotel in Ferensway next Tuesday.
The evening will celebrate the 175th anniversary of the Whitby to Pickering railway line through pictures, maps and archive films.
There will also be a look at the history of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.
The show starts at 7.30pm. Admission costs �2.
