HULL: A property manager from Hull has won a �7,500 payout after being mis-sold insurance.
Paul Fielder, 33, first complained about this mis-sold payment protection insurance in August.
Now Brunel Frankin have won him a refund from the vendor, Black Horse.
At the time the insurance was sold, Mr Fielder says it was not made clear to him that his financial situation did not warrant protection from redundancy.
Sally Bowyer, of Brunel Franklin, said: "Paul's case highlights just how careful people must be when taking out loans or other credit agreements.
"While many companies are out there offering to undertake this work, you really need to go with a company you can trust, with a proven track record of success."
EAST YORKS: A presentation has been made to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) in memory of Ron Pett, who died this year.
The presentation was made at Newland St John's School in Beresford Avenue, north Hull, where Mr Pett was a governor.
The cheque of �840 was presented by Mr Pett's widow Hilary, and one of the year six children from the school, to the coxswain of the Humber Lifeboat, Dave Steenvorden.
Mr Pett had been connected to the school for 14 years and since he retired he devoted a lot of his time to the school.
HULL: Work on problematic potholes in Hull has been carried out.
In the last week, teams from Hull City Council have been working on 16 roads, including National Avenue, Greenwood Avenue and Springhead Avenue.
In the coming weeks, the teams will be filling holes in Tiverton Road, Honiton Road, Howdale Road, Stoneferry Road, Jesmond Gardens, Wynburg Street, George Street, County Road North, Ferensway, Melrose Street and Murrayfield Road.
HULL: One-to-one personalised support is being offered to those who need to get the skills needed to progress to education or employment.
The Lonsdale Centre, in Lonsdale Street, is offering the sessions.
The drop-in sessions allow people to come and go as they please to learn at a pace that suits them.
Staff will provide a helping hand towards learning, qualifications and getting work.

HULL: A charity rock night will be held for Cash For Kids this month.
Daz's Rock 4 Charity has been organised by Bristol-born musician and entertainer Darren Sims, who has lived in Hull for the past eight years.
The concert is being held on Friday, May 27, from 7.30pm at Hull City Hall.

HULL: Roman armies will be brought back to life in a special day of events in Hull's Museums Quarter.
Maximus the Roman centurion will be greeting guests, who can take part in battle tactic training.
Families will also be able to make their own Roman figures with the potter Gaius and taste authentic Roman food.
There will also be craft activities.
