House fire causes traffic problems

A house fire on Ings Road in east Hull caused traffic problems this morning as smoke billowed across the carriageway.

Up to 20 firefighters attended the scene after the blaze at a semi-detached property spread to the roof.

Four fire engines were at the scene from 8.20am and the blaze was brought under control by 9.20am.

It is unclear at this stage whether anyone was in the property at the time but no one was hurt.

The cause of the fire is being investigated and traffic on the road is back to normal.
