North Carolina vs. Michigan State: Carrier Classic Perfect Way To Honor Military

On one of the greatest days to celebrate our brave men and women who help protect the United State of America, Veterans Day, we get to see the first collegiate basketball game on an aircraft carrier.

And it's not just any US aircraft carrier that these two teams will open their season on, as the USS Carl Vinson is the same ship that carried the deceased body of Osama Bin Laden and helped aid to to the country of Haiti after it suffered a horrible earth quake.

Tonight’s game between the No. 1 North Carolina Tar Heels and the Michigan State Spartans is the perfect way to kick off the basketball season for these two great programs. Not only do we get to see two teams that have been a number of Final Fours in the past 10 years, but we get to see two Hall of Fame coaches open their seasons in the middle of a giant aircraft carrier.

But, it will not be just be the impressive sighting of not only seeing a basketball game played outside, but the powerful figures that will be in attendance at the game.

As according to the Boston Herald, “Security concerns are also paramount, with President Obama scheduled to attend and hundreds of civilians coming aboard one of the Navy’s most prized fighting ships.”

So not only do we get basketball on the ship that has a lot of history attached to it, two great basketball teams and celebrating Veteran’s Day, but now we get our President attending the game?

As WWE Superstar Zack Ryder would say, “Are you serious bro?!”

Tonight will be a great night to sit back and relax in your home. The weather is starting to turn more toward fall, as the temperatures are starting to get colder. Stay in tonight and tune into this game, as college basketball honors and celebrates America with a classic basketball game.

This game took three years to finally come together. It took 10 days to set up the court and stands to fit 7,000 people, get the television cameras and production equipment set up and make sure that everyone attending will have a great time.

And they had a crew construct a backup court, just in case of bad weather in San Diego.

Tonight will make for a historical night in college basketball. It will be a great scene to see, as we celebrate the people who help protect the freedom that we enjoy here in America.
