GLENDALE, ARIZONA ? Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have re-signed center Kyle Turris to a multi-year contract. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. The contract is contingent upon Turris passing a medical examination.
?We are pleased to agree to terms with Kyle on a multi-year contract,? said Maloney. ?Kyle is a top, young player who will make us a better team. We look forward to having him in our lineup so he can contribute to our team.?
Last season, the 6-foot-1, 195 pound Turris appeared in 65 regular season games for the Coyotes, registering 11-14-25 and 16 penalty minutes (PIM). He established new career highs in games played (65), goals (11), assists (14) and points (25). Turris made his Stanley Cup Playoff debut in Game 1 of the Western Conference Quarter-Final against Detroit, scoring the first goal of the game. He appeared in all four games, recording 1-2-3 and was the only Coyote with a plus rating in the series.
?I am happy to sign with Phoenix and start playing,? said Turris. ?It?s been a long process, but now I am focused on playing and helping the team win.?
