Stephane Quintal Named Manager Of NHL Department Of Player Safety

NEW YORK (Nov. 17, 2011)?Longtime NHL player Stephane Quintal, a defenseman who played in more than 1,000 games over a 16-year career, is joining the NHL Department of Player Safety as a Manager, the National Hockey League announced today.

Quintal, 43, joins the Player Safety group that is under the direction of Senior Vice President of Player Safety and Hockey Operations Brendan Shanahan.

?I am delighted that Stephane will be joining the Department of Player Safety,? Shanahan said. ?Stephane was a physical defenseman who played the game with great passion and intensity. His insight and his ability to articulate our views will be a great asset to our department.?
