If I'm a NFL general manager, I'm looking to draft a guy that can make an impact on kickoff weekend for my football team—forget the old thought that rookies need to sit behind veterans to "learn the intricacies of the pro game".
Look at Cam Newton, Andy Dalton, A.J. Green, Julio Jones.
Playmakers that were making plays in college less than a year ago.
Which prospects are the top playmakers in the 2012 draft class?
Robert Griffin III
Andrew Luck isn't the only quarterback in this class that should excel at the next level. Robert Griffin III is piecing together one of the most insanely productive seasons from the quarterback position that we've seen in quite some time.
He's got 30 total touchdowns (26 passing) and only four interceptions and is completing 74 percent of his passes.
At Baylor, Griffin III isn't playing in some dink-and-dunk.
He's been asked to push the ball down field often and has been incredibly efficient.
He also has immense athletic ability and can elude the pass rush and scramble to gain big chunks of yardage.
Calling him a combination of Cam Newton and Michael Vick isn't crazy—it's spot on.

Justin Blackmon
Blackmon would have likely been a top 20 selection had he entered the 2011 draft. He'll be a much higher pick this year and his Oklahoma State Cowboys have a realistic shot to win the national title.
In his third season in Stillwater, Blackmon has 87 catches for 1,039 yards with 12 touchdowns and is coming off consecutive 13-catch performances.
He doesn't disappear in any games and at 6'1'', 215 pounds he possesses ideal size to be a possession receiver that also can stretch the field.
Blackmon doesn't have burner speed, but is amazing after the catch.
Trent Richardson
NFL teams have realized that you don't need to draft a running back extremely high anymore, but Richardson is a supreme talent that will almost assuredly go in the first round.
He's 5'11'', 225 pounds and doesn't have an ounce of fat on him which makes him capable of running between the tackles.

Richardson, who's deceptively shifty can turn the corner and has the speed to make a generic toss sweep into a 50-yard touchdown scamper.
He's got freakish athletic ability and is one of the most tenacious runners I've seen at the college ranks.
Also, a proven commodity in the screen game—he understands how to set up blocks to gain positive yardage.
