Rams vs. Giants: How Will Rams Rebound from Dreadful MNF Performance?

The St. Louis Rams don't have the most inviting schedule in the first half of the season, so they need to capitalize on every opportunity.

On Monday night against the Giants in New York, the Rams wasted their first big opportunity of the 2011 season.

You couldn't blame the Rams for losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1. But in Week 2, they were playing a depleted secondary, not to mention a defensive line without Osi Umenyiora, and the Giants offense wasn't exactly clicking on all cylinders.

Bradford did pass for 331 yards, but he went 22-of-46 (47 percent) and passed only one touchdown while coughing up a fumble.

Yes, I understand the Rams were without star running back Steven Jackson, but the fact of the matter is they could have pulled out a win in New York without him, but simply came out flat.

By the way, for an offensive line that added former Atlanta Falcons guard Harvey Dahl in the offseason, I would have never expected it to play this poorly. After giving up five sacks in Week 1, Bradford was constantly pressured on Monday night, and the two sacks allowed doesn't do the O-line's ineptitude justice.

Now 0-2, the Rams' 28-16 loss on Monday may be the last chance they get an opportunity to win a game before Week 9 against the Arizona Cardinals.

They face Baltimore next, followed by Washington, Green Bay, Dallas and New Orleans.

While the Redskins wouldn't have posed much a problem in 2010, they have started out 2011 with two straight wins and have looked much more cohesive as a group, which may have something to do with getting rid of defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth and replacing him with Barry Cofield.

The Rams better begin playing like the playoff team they were supposed to be, or their season could get out of hand quickly.
