In Brief

EAST YORKS: With soaring temperatures persuading people to holiday in England, Visit Hull and East Yorkshire's Wolds development plan is picking up pace.

So far, the organisation has installed information boards for visitors, launched the Big Skies Bike Rides and Way Of The Roses coast to coast cycle routes and produced the Walk The Wolds pack. A cycle route around the whole of the Yorkshire Wolds will be created later this summer.

Further plans include an arts trail across the Yorkshire Wolds Way called Wander – Art On The Yorkshire Wolds Way. It is aimed at encouraging people to walk the national trail.

GOOLE: Trinity Methodist Church in Clifton Gardens is joining community groups and organisations across the UK by holding a Big Lunch on Sunday.

Everyone is welcome to join in the free event, in the schoolrooms from noon to 2pm, as well as to the preceding service at 10.30am, or the contemporary evening service at 6pm.

Donations of food will be welcome on the day.
