According to Capgeek, the Red Wings have signed Tomas Jurco to an entry-level contract

Well go figure, the, “George leaves the house and stuff happens” rule must be tied to proximity to Southeastern Michigan. The ever-indispensable RedWingsFeed posted the following Tweet from Capgeek.com a few minutes ago…

Preliminary contract details for #NHL #RedWings Tomas Jurco (GP bonuses not included) capgeek.com/players/displa…— CapGeek (@capgeek) August 7, 2012

And that Tweet suggests that the NHL’s managed to ink a transfer agreement with the Slovak Ice Hockey Federation, and as such, the Wings have inked Tomas Jurco to a 3-year, entry-level contract. Jurco will now be paid $70,000, plus a $92,500 signing bonus for each of the next three seasons to play for the Grand Rapids Griffins. If he makes the NHL, he’ll earn a pro-rated portion of approximately $709,167.

I’m sure he’s incredibly relieved to know his future’s no longer in doubt, because he seemed genuinely afraid of having to play in Slovakia sans a transfer agreement when he was talking to the Wings’ brass at Detroit’s summer development camp.
