SPORTS CHART OF THE DAY: How The BCS Polls Voted For Oklahoma State And Alabama


Oklahoma State is ranked second in four of the six computer polls used in the BCS rankings. But Alabama will play in the BCS Championship game on the strength of being ranked second in both the Harris Poll and the Coaches Poll.

If we take a closer look, we can see that there wasn't much dispute on how good Alabama is, but there was a lot of disagreement over how to rank Oklahoma State.

Of the 174 voters combined between the Coaches poll and the Harris Poll, 122 had the Crimson Tide ranked second. And only 52 had the Cowboys ranked second. But more importantly, only two voters had Alabama ranked below third (Two 4th place votes). On the other hand, 22 voters had Oklahoma State below third, including three voters that had them ranked sixth on their ballot!
