NBA free agency is less that 24 hours away - and things are already crazy.
Despite the fact that deals can't be considered "official" until Friday, a significant amount of deals have been announced.
The unrestricted free agent cupboard is barer than it was hours ago, but there is still plenty of talent available.
Unemployed players range from the high-priced stars to the inexpensive gems.
Will your team choose wisely?
Nene (2010-11 team: Denver Nuggets)
The Brazilian big man is considered the best of the free agent class, but he’s also been one of the least talked about. He’s still young (29), tough, and been fairly consistent throughout his career. The drawback? Cost. Nene’s asking price is nearing $14 million per season, which could price out many interested teams and find him back in Denver.
Tyson Chandler (2010-11 team: Dallas Mavericks)
The defensive anchor of the defending champions has been one of the most talked about free agents after declaring it unlikely he’d re-sign. He received a great deal of attention from Golden State. But then, seemingly out of nowhere, the Knicks swooped in. Now there is a reported “98 percent” chance he signs with New York.
David West (2010-11 team: New Orleans Hornets)
The other guy in New Orleans is pretty good, too. West decided to opt out of the final year of his contract and $7.5 million. When he’s not dealing with injuries (he’s coming off reconstructive knee surgery) he’s an extremely effective player in the post and from mid-range. With only five players currently under contract, the Hornets are working hard to re-sign West.
