County Council to find extra 450,000 for volunteering organisations

NOTTS County Council has announced it will find an extra 450,000 to help volunteering organisations.

The council had previously said it would cut the budget by half.

But about 50 per cent of people disagreed with the cuts, which would have meant the scrapping of several services.

As a result the council have said they will find the extra money.

The council has also earmarked 25,000 for the citizens advice bureau.

The proposed 200 a week increase in charges for residents of council-run residential homes who pay the full charge has been staggered.

It was set to rise from April, but will rise by 100 from April, and by a further 100 from April 2012.
