Tim Thomas emerges from his bunker, waives no-movement clause

Via Spector and others on Twitter, the Boston Globe’s Fluto Shinzawa reports the following…

Tim Thomas has waived NMC. Would have expired on July 1. Teams near cap floor have inquired.

And NESN’s Naoko Funayama confirms:

Nothing definite on Tim Thomas, but he waived his NTC (which would expire July 1 anyway). Chiarelli says, “he’s being cooperative.”
...
Chiarelli says a few teams have inquired about Thomas. Couple about his status for next season, couple in regards to cap floor.

Nice way to take a year off and help somebody out while getting paid, eh?

Update: From Sportsnet’s Nick Kypreos:

#SNdraft Despite Thomas waiving his no-trade allowing #Bruins to deal him he still claims it won’t changed his mind on taking time off #NHL
