WWE News: John Morrison Leaving the Company Soon?
John Morrison is one of the WWE’s most popular mid-carders.
His rock star persona, his parkour style and his flashy move set have earned him a ton of fans, and that fan base has grown considerably since he turned face a couple of years ago.
When you watch Morrison in the ring, you think, “Man, that dude looks like a star.” The only problem is, he isn’t yet.
For whatever reason, JoMo can’t seem to break through to the main event scene, and now it appears that he may not have many more chances.
From the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via WrestleZone.com):
The Wrestling Observer is reporting that while not confirmed, many believe that John Morrison's WWE contract is set to expire within the next couple of months.
Could Morrison actually part ways when his current contract expires? I say yes.
Though I think—at least wrestling ability-wise—he’s one of the top stars in the company, Morrison has floundered in mid-card hell for much of the last year.
Why? Well, you could blame that on a couple of things: He earned himself some heat earlier this year when he snubbed Trish Stratus in favor of his girlfriend Melina, and he also missed a considerable amount of time because of an injury earlier this summer.
Still, that doesn’t explain the horrendous booking of Morrison’s character. He has one signature win over R-Truth since his return from the injury, and he’s spent the rest of his time jobbing to guys like Christian and Alberto Del Rio.
If the WWE wants to know why Morrison hasn’t won a World title yet, then it all it has to do it take a look at how he’s been portrayed over the last year or so.
It wouldn’t surprise me in the least bit if Morrison decides to leave the WWE in a few months, or if the WWE decides to let Morrison walk.
At this point, he’s not a crucial piece to the company’s future. That’s a shame, but it’s also the truth.
