LSU Football 2011: Could the Tigers Still Make the National Championship with a Loss?

The LSU Tigers square off against the Alabama Crimson Tide next weekend in what will likely determine the winner of the SEC and possibly the National Championship.

But what if the Tigers lose this big matchup, can they still make the National Championship?

It will take a lot of help but teams below them should end up losing eventually. Oklahoma State still has to play Baylor, Kansas State, Texas Tech and Oklahoma.

LSU could probably jump an undefeated Boise State team based off strength of schedule.

Clemson still has to play Georgia Tech and South Carolina. Both may be unlikely but both teams are capable of pulling off an upset.

Stanford and Oregon still play each other and have a few more difficult games left on the schedule after that big game.

Overall, the Tigers would need a ton of help to get back in the National Championship conversation with a loss but it is possible.

The best thing LSU can do is take care of business so they wouldn't have to worry about all of this.
