Tuesday Morning Thoughts

from Mike Brophy of Sportsnet, • Just wondering, will the Boston Bruins be the latest champion winner to fall victim of the dreaded Stanley Cup hangover? It sure looks that way as the B?s opened the year 3-5-0.

• Just about everybody figured James Neal would flourish in Pittsburgh mainly because he?d be the trigger man for Sidney Crosby. Well, Neal has not had the pleasure of playing with Crosby yet, for obvious reasons, and he certainly was not impressive scoring just one goal and six points in 20 games with Pittsburgh last season. This year, though, Neal has played superbly and was tied for the league lead in goals with eight through his first 10 games. Can?t wait to see him skate with Sid the Kid.

• It?s early, but Toronto?s Dion Phaneuf is emerging as a legitimate Norris Trophy candidate.
