Week 1 it was Steve Smith out of no where hooking up with Cam Newton for a near career day. Week 2 it was Jeremy Maclin back from an entire off-season without playing for a huge game. Week 3 Wes Welker had a 50-point day personally handing owners a win. Last week it was Hakeem Nicks with the big day.
Each week there are receivers who not only have big games, but they utterly explode with production that even their owners can't say I told you so. Here are five wide receivers just oozing with the potential to be this week's game-breaker.
Roddy White, Atlanta Falcons
You may think Roddy White is upset he's playing second fiddle of sorts to Julio Jones right now. I don't think so, he wants to win and he and Roddy are both getting their balls.
This week, though, against a stacked Green Bay offense the Falcons will have to be on their toes ready to get back on the field and comeback with a score of their own.
Don't think for a minute Matt Ryan forgot who his go-to has been they last few seasons. When the going gets tough in this one he'll be going to White and the Packers won't be able to stop him. They haven't really stopped any receivers this year for that matter.
Wes Welker, New England Patriots
What is going to happen this week in the Jets/Patriots game? Will it be a 48-3 Patriots win or a 28-21 Jets Victory?
That's hard to tell with these teams, but one thing is for sure, even if it's a tough game for the Patriots Brady will be looking for his golden retriever. I mean golden receiver.
Either way, Welker should scoop up double digit passes in this one, just depends if its for multiple touchdowns or first downs to determine if he's the weeks top wide receiver.
Calvin Johnson, Detroit Lions
Calvin Johnson hasn't been the top receiver in a certain week yet this year, but I don't think his owners are complaining.
Two scores every time out? That's crazy. He tries to do it again to set the NFL record for five straight games.
A little extra motivation might be that would-be game-winner the referees called a drop last season against the Bears. Once again the other team doesn't have anyone in the secondary to match-up with Megatron and he's in for a solid day a worst.
Greg Jennings, Green Bay Packers
Greg Jennings has been known for a lights-out game or two. He plays the Atlanta Falcons this week who were the recipient of Jeremy Maclin's 200-yard game in Week 2.
The Falcons have the No. 24 ranked pass defense in the league and their pass rush is nowhere to be found. I think Aaron Rodgers will have all day to find his guys and another 48 points like they scored on Atlanta last January won't be out of the question.
The only question with the Packers is: Will it be Jennings, Jordy Nelson, Donald Driver, JerMichael Finley or James Jones?
Vincent Jackson, San Diego Chargers
As Vincent Jackson showed last week he only needs three catches to get 108 yards. What if Phillip Rivers decides to hit him 10 times like he did in Week 2 for 172 yards and two scores?
The Chargers play the Broncos this week who have another of the leagues worst passing defenses giving up 8.4 yards per pass. Antonio Gates remains out for San Diego another week, making Jackson the most talented target for Rivers by far.
I like his chances.
