2012 NFL Free Agents: Best Offensive Players Available for Super Bowl Contenders

For Super Bowl contenders looking to add one or two more pieces to their roster before the 2012 NFL season, there are still some quality offensive players remaining on the free-agent market.

Whether teams are looking for a backup for depth purposes, or a starter at a certain position, there's plenty of talent still available.

Let's look at the three best offensive players available for contenders to consider signing.

Ryan Grant, RB

Grant had a good career with the Green Bay Packers, but the possibility of injury is a concern for any team considering the veteran running back for next year.

He played in 15 games in 2011, but an injury forced him to miss 15 games in 2010. He is 29 years old, which isn't young for a running back, but on a team where he can share carries, Grant would be a fine pickup.

The former Packers star still has a lot left to give an NFL team, and if healthy, could play a large role in a rushing attack next season.

Braylon Edwards, WR

Edwards has had a disappointing NFL career after shining at the University of Michigan, but the seven-year veteran is still an option as a No. 3 receiver for a contending team.

He played in nine games last season for the San Francisco 49ers, and if healthy, could certainly rack up 800-plus yards receiving with a good quarterback.

Edwards is too talented to remain unsigned for much longer. He would add some nice depth at wide receiver on a contending team.

Cedric Benson, RB

Benson is a restricted free agent, and it will be interesting to see if the Cincinnati Bengals bring him back next season.

He is a good running back, who can be a quality No. 2 option, and can share carries on a playoff-caliber team.

Benson rushed for over 1,000 yards last season and scored six touchdowns. He's a solid player and a restricted free agent worth pursuing.
