After fifteen minutes of play, the Los Angeles Galaxy and the Philippines are scoreless at Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Early on in the first half, a shot from the Azkals’ Angel Guirado was collected by Josh Saunders in the second minute. A chance for Mike Magee in the fourth minute was easily snuffed out by the Filipino back line. A long pass for Magee in the eighth minute was swept easily by Ray Jonsson.
Frankie Hejduk’s cross in the 11th minute of play found no one and missed wide right. Phil Younghusband threatened in the 13th minute but was double-marked. Another shot for the Azkals was saved by Saunders in the 14th minute, and the subsequent counter was collected by local goalkeeper Edward Sacapano.
The Azkals are playing some impressive football at the moment, and have gotten some good looks on goal. As for the Galaxy, they must settle down and play their brand of football because it is apparent that the home side mean business.
