NFL Picks Week 16: 5 Picks Against the Spread

After a disappointing week 15, in which I went just 2-3, I'm back with my week 16 picks. There isn't a marquee matchup this week, but there are a couple good opportunities to make some money. On to the games.

The Dolphins have been on fire lately, winning five of their last seven. Though the team is playing under interim head coach Todd Bowles, they had little trouble dispatching of the Bills in Buffalo last week. They've historically played the Pats tough at home, so I'm taking Miami to cover 9.5 points.

The Cardinals, led by second-year QB John Skelton, have won four in a row and have an outside shot at making the postseason. Skelton has been effective, if not exciting, leading the Cardinals back to .500 after a 3-7 start. Arizona is a 4.5 point underdog, but has done relatively well against the spread when not favored. This should be a close game. Take Arizona.

The Eagles, all of a sudden, are back in the hunt for a playoff bid. They beat the Cowboys by 27 points earlier in the season, but enter this game as a three-point underdog in Dallas. Another game that should be close, I'm taking the Eagles.

The Panthers have been tough-luck losers for most of the season, but pulled off an inspiring upset over the AFC South division leading Houston Texans. Against the Tampa Bay Bucs, a team in complete disarray, Carolina should roll easily.

The Niners have been money against the spread this season, going 10-2-1. There's no reason to think they won't be able to handle Seattle, a team that relies heavily on its ground game.
