Petition for children's heart surgery unit has 100,000 signatures

EAST YORKS: A petition calling on the Government to keep the region's children's heart surgery unit open has passed 100,000 signatures.

The petition is part of the Save Our Surgery campaign.

It is being run by the Children's Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF) charity, which supports the unit at Leeds General Infirmary.

The campaign aims to stop a review of children's heart surgery services in England that could lead to the closure of the unit and force East Yorkshire families to take their children to centres in Newcastle or Liverpool for surgery.
