The club did not have their legs, failed to put any real offensive pressure on Canadiens? netminder Carey Price and certainly did not help netminder Martin Biron. All in all, it was a sloppy hockey game that with a 7-game winning streak, was going to happen sooner or later.
With that said, the team is going to need to put this one out of their minds fast as they have a tough schedule coming up. The team will be in Florida on Wednesday night to take on the high-flying Florida Panthers followed by a game against the Washington Capitals on Friday at 4:00 p.m. and then the next day, the team will be home for a Saturday afternoon tilt with the Philadelphia Flyers.
This is exactly why the Blueshirts need to forget about Saturday night?s game and focus on their upcoming games against three really good hockey clubs. To win these games, the team?s offense will obviously need to step up and the defense will need to play more responsibly in their own end.
There is no reason to hit the panic button as this game needed to happen for the Rangers. They needed something to bring them back to reality and show them that they are nowhere near to being a perfect hockey team.
It is what it is so it is back to focusing on the hear and now for the Blueshirts.
